About Me

Greetings! My name is Andrew and I operate Andrew's Weather Center in its entirety by myself. I am a fifth-year senior at North Carolina State University at Raleigh, North Carolina. I am working toward a B.S. in meteorology with a minor in environmental science. I have lived in North Carolina for 20 out of the 22 years of my life, and I call Clayton, NC home.

AWC History:

I began working on Andrew's Weather Center on 3 July, 2011 as a summer project for one of my classes in High School. Shortly after its inception, I garnered many followers and "fans" on Facebook, and I became sort of an amateur forecast center for the greater Triad area of North Carolina. A couple of years later in early 2013, I visited with FOX8 Chief Meteorologist Van Denton and was lucky enough to get to watch the 10:00 PM newscast from inside the studio. By this time, my once insignificant Facebook Page was reaching about 1,000 people around the Triad area and also a select few people from around the entire country. I decided to step up my game and construct a webpage for AWC in late 2013 so that I could find and share even more weather information to people online. I in NO way claim to be an expert at the practice of weather forecasting, and my goal is to enhance your weather knowledge and provide you with connections to make understanding and preparing for significant weather easier. Eventually, I hope to pioneer some of my own research and see where it takes me. So far, I must say, I have already been on quite the journey with AWC. Here's to seeing where it takes me next.
